How to Set Up MS Outlook as your Email Client for Gmail (Using IMAP as the Protocol)
This article will assist you with: turning on the Email Client features on Gmail and setting up your Gmail to MS Outlook using the IMAP protocol
1. Turning on the IMAP features on Gmail
1. Log in to Gmail on Chrome
2. Head to Settings (the Settings icon on the top right of your email webpage

3. Click on the "Forwarding and POP/IMAP" tab along the navigation bar. In the IMAP section, select "Enable IMAP" and then "Save Changes"

Your Gmail account is now prepared for configuring on an Email Desktop App.
2. Setting up Gmail (using IMAP) on MS Outlook
1. Open the MS Outlook Desktop App and start the Account Setup process by typing in your email address on the dialog. **Please select Not Google and then IMAP/POP on the next steps of the setup process **

2. Please type in the below IMAP settings (screenshot below displaying how the settings should look like) and then click Add Account:
Gmail.com (Google Mail) IMAP Server:
Incoming Server: imap.gmail.com
IMAP port: 993
IMAP security: SSL / TLS
IMAP username: Your full email address
IMAP password: Your Gmail.com password
Gmail.com (Google Mail) SMTP Server:
Outgoing Server: smtp.gmail.com
SMTP port: 465
SMTP security: SSL / TLS
SMTP username: Your full email address
SMTP password: Your Gmail.com password

Your Gmail has now been successfully added as an account on the MS Outlook Desktop App.
