Egnyte Desktop Co-Editing Setup
Prerequisites:
- Egnyte Account details
- Microsoft Account details
- Authy app (or your Authenticator app of choice)
- Egnyte Desktop app up-to-date
- Microsoft apps up-to-date
- Chrome up-to-date

Or alternatively follow the written guidance below:
- Open the Engyte Desktop app, head to the settings icon/menu, and remove all drives.
- You may notice a slight lag when removing, please ensure all drives are removed.
- Open Word, head to the top left, click on your initials and click Sign Out.
- You’ll now want to begin re-adding your Egnyte Drives, starting with your Company Domain/Drive first.
- Be aware that you’ll only be able to use Desktop Co-editing on the drives that you’ve added here.
- Please retrieve your details from Dashlane and have Authy or your Authenticator app of choice open, ready to enter your 2FA codes.
- Enter your Email, select the drive you wish to add, and enter your password.
- 3 options will appear, if you have the Authy app set up you can select Mobile Pushfrom this list and you'll receive an Approve or Deny notification in Authy
- Alternatively choose Use Passcode to receive a text message or enter the code from your Authenticator app.
- After you’ve added your drive, select the Add Another Drive option under the Open Folder button, and continue to add the rest of your drives.
- Now open Word and click the sign in button in the top left.
- After signing in click your intials in the top left and click the plus button next to Connected Services.
- Please ensure you have Quit or Force Quit Excel and Powerpoint before proceeding further.
- Open Word and the Connected Accounts menu and select Egnyte at the bottom.
- A new window will appear, click Import, then Allow Access, and then click the close button.
- You may now reopen Powerpoint and Word.
- Check your initials in the top left for these two apps, and you should see the Egnyte image listed as an option there.
- This means you've successfully set up the Egnyte Desktop Co-Editing integration within the Microsoft apps.
- You may now proceed to the Demo Clip.
